July 2011
I was stationed at Sunnyvale Air Force Station in the SF Bay area (later named Onizuka AFS after one of the Challenger astronauts), and got to be on the back-channel for the first Columbia launch. (A back-channel is an alternative communications net for NASA and DOD, in case something happened to the primary network.) I didn’t get to talk to the astronauts, but I did share a companionable five minutes chatting with Vice President George H. W. Bush on one of the back-channel lines. Our parking lot shuttle van got a sign that said “Space Shuttle” in honor of the event. And a few months prior to that, a bunch of people went out to Edwards AFB to watch the final drop-tests of the Enterprise shuttle. There was a Star Trek convention in LA that weekend, and people wore badges that said, “I see by your sunburn that you were at Edwards.”
Orgasms are good for lots of things- physical as well as mental. Why not pencil in a few and see how you feel?
